The true Koppány

Koppány is a tragic, forgotten and misinterpreted hero of the Hungarian history. His life and death is overshadowed by the black curtain of defamation. This book will pull down the more than thousand years old veil and show the true Koppány, the freedom hero, who fights for the values of the nation.

The author describes the main character as well as his friends and opponents through interesting and exciting series of events, their philosophy, their mental and spiritual attitude and the psychological background of their decisions. We will get to know the special love story of Koppány and his wife, Napsugár (Sunshine), the uncle of Koppány, his mentor, chief-priest of Somogy country and the Bavarian Lothar bishop, first Christian bishop of Somogy country, his wisdom of patient, religious welcoming and rejection of social exclusion, and the best friend of Koppány, Styepan, the king of Croatia and Tonuzóba, leader of the Pechenegs; and the understanding and family loving attitude of chieftain Géza with his future successor to Koppány.

Stephan (István) did not necessarily belong to the group of opponents of Koppány, despite the fact that from his young age, German priests taught him and tried everything, that their disciple sees the ancient Hungarian values and traditions as paganism.

The fiercest opponent of Koppány was Ebhart, German abbot, who supervised the education of Stephan, who succeeded to turn Sarolt, Stephen’s mother onto his side  against Koppány. Ebhart chief abbot and his priests, - following the orders of the elderly Adelheid Empress and her grandson, Otto the III. German-Roman Emperor - successfully organized the conspiracy against Koppány, of which main element is the marriage of Stephan with Giselle, Bavarian Princess. Giselle´s choice was not by accident, the princess was grown up in a hateful, anti-pagan and anti-Hungarian atmosphere. Her grandfather was Henry the I., Duke of Bavaria, who treacherously ambushed the Hungarian leaders Bulcsú and Lél after the battle of Augsburg in 955, disrespecting the diplomatic rules and brutally executed them. The father of Giselle, Henry the II., Duke of Bavaria is called in German history also as Henry the Quarrelsome, who was well-known for his unwavering hatred against the Hungarians. Ultimately Koppány stood in the way of the interest of the German Empire. It´s obvious, that the real reason behind the conflict of Koppány and Stephan was not whether accepting Christianity or not. The question was already decided during the reign of Lord Géza (971-997).
The royal clan - including Koppány and his family- as well as the vast majority of the Hungarian aristocrats decided to adapt to the changed European environment and take on the Christianity. The question was merely what kind of Christianity will they accept. A Christianity dictated by the Germans and western high priests, where the values of the nations are underlined to the German and western religious and secular powers or a Christianity, where the interest of the nations are put in front of the western interest?

The Foundation Letter of Pannonhalma (997) clearly clarified the real cause of the conflict between Koppány and Stephan, it was not the conflict between Paganism - Christianity, but the hunger for power, the battle between Germans and Hungarians. "When the battle broke out between the Germans and Hungarians, the great thunder has began, as the County of Somogy desired to pursue my Fathers chair..."
The war between German-Hungarian was the war because of interest, to acquire the income and goods of Hungary, which the Christian church could organize the most efficient way. Ebhart chief abbot and his priests, - following the orders of the elderly Adelheid Empress and her grandson, Otto the III. The rhetorical question is, where we have gone wrong, was asked by many, who analysed the more than 1000 years old history of the Hungarian tragedies in the Carpathian basin. Some believe it all began with the conflict between Koppány and Stephan. Today, 1000 years later it´s clear the conversion to Christianity was necessary and determining point in the life of Hungarians. Jesus Christ´s teachings of love stood close to the Hungarian spirit and to the emotional values of the ancient order. However, it also became clear that 1000 years ago the Christian church could have been organized in less cruel way and harmonized and implemented with the Hungarian interest, excluding the foreign interest.

How it could happen, that Hungary, one of the strongest military powers of the contemporary Europe was defeated without any serious battles, acquired their assets and extradite by the German-Roman empire, led by the wealth hungry of western churches.
The book tells the story through the romantic history of Koppány and answers those unanswered questions for which we wait since 1000 years.

Az igazi Koppány

Koppány a magyar történelem félreértelmezett, elfeledett tragikus hőse.

Jézus Krisztus szeretettanítása közel állt a magyar lélek érzelemteli ősi értékrendjéhez. Viszont az is világossá vált, hogy 1000 évvel ezelőtt a keresztény egyház megszervezését kevésbé erőszakos módon is meg lehetett volna valósítani és jobban össze lehetett volna hangolni a magyar érdekérvényesítés céljaival, kiszorítva az idegen érdekek térhódítását.

Hogyan történhetett meg mégis, hogy Magyarországot, a korabeli Európa egyik legerősebb katonai nagyhatalmát, jelentős háború nélkül sikerült legyőzni, megszerezni a javait és kiszolgáltatottá tenni a Német-Római Birodalom által irányított vagyonéhes nyugati egyházaknak?

A könyv Koppány története regényes elbeszélésével válaszol az 1000 éve megválaszolatlan kérdésre.
